First Mate

JOB Posting JOB TITLE: First Mate DEPARTMENT: Boats REPORTS TO:Captain or General Manager POSITION PURPOSE: The First Mate is responsible for the operation and safety of the property's vessel. This person should work in a safe manner consistence with USCG regulations. Daily maintenance inspections to ensure vessel operates correctly, in addition to having a high level of customer service to the people who are aboard the vessel. You should be able to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Daily operation of vessel Meet and greet customers both as they arrive and depart the vessel Coordinate line-handling when coming to dock, anchoring, deck maintenance and safety EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: First mate experience preferred Enrolled in APCA Drug Consortium Strong knowledge of boating Must have flexible schedule to include working weekends and holidays during busy season WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to thirty (30) pounds Must be able to swim or be willing to wear a personal flotation device in instances of emergency Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally Must be able to work flexible hours based on the needs of the property to include weekends and holidays as needed.
