Job Opportunity: Chief of Radiology

Our organization is seeking a Chief of Radiology who will also hold a dual academic position with a local health science center. This role reports directly to the Chief of Staff and is tasked with overseeing the administration, management, and leadership of the Diagnostic Imaging Department. Additionally, the Chief of Radiology will occasionally act as an extension of the Chief of Staff, providing support in their absence.

The facility features a primary campus along with ten community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs). As a 1a complexity tertiary care VA healthcare system, it is situated in one of the fastest-growing regions for Veterans in the United States. The center delivers comprehensive healthcare services to over 47,000 Veterans across a 52-county area, which includes parts of Western Tennessee, Northern Mississippi, Eastern Arkansas, and sections of Missouri and Kentucky. The medical center is equipped with 236 inpatient beds, including a 26-bed Spinal Cord Injury Unit, and functions as a teaching hospital that offers a full spectrum of patient care services, cutting-edge technology, and extensive educational and research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical care across various settings, including inpatient consultations and outpatient clinics.
• Manage the Diagnostic Imaging Service, supervising medical staff, providers, and trainees in Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Oncology.
• Provide technical guidance and promote professional development through coaching, mentoring, and teaching.
• Engage in high-level decision-making and policy development that influences patient care in collaboration with medical center administration and other service leaders.
• Delegate responsibilities effectively to meet patient care needs and align with medical center objectives.

Position Highlights

• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM
• CME Reimbursement: Up to $2,000 annually (Board Certification required)

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Board Eligible/Certified in Diagnostic Radiology
• Eligibility for a faculty appointment at the health science center
• Preferred: Three years of leadership experience
• Must possess a full and unrestricted medical license from any state
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English
