Accounting Specialist

Latham, NY

Fusco Personnel is actively recruiting for an Accounting Specialist to join our well-respected client in Latham, NY. This is a full-time, temporary opportunity to join a well-respected organization! 

The ideal candidate will provide core financial and administrative support to the Finance department. Their primary focus will be processing all accounts payable, paying vendor invoices, weekly payroll, and assisting with minimal agency accounts receivable tasks, as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Verify, authorize, and enter all incoming invoices into accounting software with high accuracy
• Prepare and execute weekly check runs and ad-hoc payments as needed.
• Accrue all invoices and process end-of-month payables each month.
• Submit required monthly general ledger journal entries to the Controller.
• Advise the Controller on pending invoices requiring payment and cash required to discharge liability.
• Serve as the primary contact for vendors; communicate proactively to resolve any invoice or payment discrepancies.
• Enter ongoing financial data accurately across accounting systems and Excel spreadsheets.
• Prepare and scan routine bank deposits.
• Other position-related duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Accounting or Business preferred 
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace.
• Experience working with construction software (plus)
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks, meet tight month-end deadlines, and work independently.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with vendors, program managers, external auditors, and team members.
• 1+ years of experience in accounting.

Pay Range:

$21.00- $29.00/hr
