Nuclear Medicine Technologist

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing nuclear medicine imaging procedures in radiology and cardiology settings at an outpatient facility. This role involves preparing and administering radioactive drugs, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring patient safety while delivering high-quality diagnostic images. The technologist collaborates with healthcare providers to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. New graduates are welcome, and strong certification and licensure are required. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and administer radioactive pharmaceuticals to patients according to protocols.
• Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and ensure safety during procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of procedures, patient data, and imaging results.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to optimize imaging quality and patient care.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection control policies.
• Utilize EPIC for electronic charting and documentation.

• Certification as CNMT, NMTCB, or ARRT in Nuclear Medicine.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid state license for Nuclear Medicine Technology, with license obtained within 4 weeks of assignment.
• Ability to perform nuclear medicine procedures accurately and safely.
• Strong attention to detail and patient care skills.

• Experience in outpatient radiology or cardiology nuclear medicine settings.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• No weekend shifts are required.
• No on-call duties expected.
• No floating between units necessary.
• Scrub color is flexible; any color is acceptable.

• Standard daytime shifts at an outpatient facility.
• Schedule details vary based on daily caseload and facility needs.
