Logistics Support

Job Summary Prepare the department so that team members can receive incoming parts, transfer needed parts to production areas, and ship finished product safely and quickly in compliance with the quality policy. Responsibilities Perform different jobs within the department. Understand and follow work standards and train new associates in the area. Perform quality checks as outlined in the work standards. Maintain good communication with team members. Inspect incoming parts and outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with quality standards. Operate forklift, electric tugger, man‑up, scissor lift, change battery, and walk‑behind lift. Complete bills of lading, packing slips, and other shipping reports. Position associates in the area according to receiving/shipment schedules. Support associates by providing required duties to meet Team Leader directives. Oversee cycle counts/investigations and report to Specialist/Team Leader. Work shift schedules and overtime as required. Maintain punctual presence and alertness in a high‑movement environment. Minor Responsibilities Participate in company activities such as IATF16949, ISO9001, ISO14001, and Employee Involvement. Communicate effectively with team members, internal departments, and related outside resources. Comply with company policies and procedures. Demonstrate practical knowledge of the employee handbook and familiarity with company structure and philosophy. Work independently in a manufacturing environment. Update job knowledge through educational opportunities. Maintain 5S standards by keeping the department clean and organized. May require occasional travel. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent (NC state or federal educational requirements). Successfully pass required testing to operate material‑handling equipment. Key Competencies Proficient understanding and working knowledge of Personal Computer and inventory management system. Outstanding safety record. Proficient arithmetic skills to interpret and analyze charts and graphs. Ability to read and understand operator instructions. Strong written communication skills. Effective verbal, listening, and communication skills. Ability to routinely perform core logistics tasks. Core Job Skills in Shipping and Receiving Shipping Section Accurately stage and prepare customer shipments. Accurately load customer shipments. Accurately input and process customer ASNs. Accurately verify, process, and input finished goods. Receiving Section Accurately unload, receive, and stock incoming import and domestic component material. Accurately disburse material to manufacturing. Safely unload and receive raw material or accurately process and receive non‑direct material. Accurately scan receipts and verify received items in Cigma. Physical Requirements Constant standing and moving 8–12 hours per day. Lift and carry up to 35 lbs. Bend, stoop, squat, and kneel as required. Apply up to 66 lbs push/pull force unassisted. Reach overhead. Work in an environment with temperatures above or below normal ranges.
