Peds Urology APP- Full Time NP/PA

Position Overview Department: Pediatric Urology (Charlotte, NC). Role: Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) working in a full‑time, 40‑hour week (Mon‑Fri 8am–5pm, limited weekend/day call). The practice includes 5 MDs, 3 APPs, 3 RNs. Compensation: $47.50–$71.25 per hour, with annual CME allowance, incentive bonus, overtime, differential pay, and PTO. Eligible for comprehensive benefits. Key Responsibilities Clinical Knowledge Demonstrates knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, presentation, and epidemiology of urologic conditions. Conducts history and physical assessments appropriate for age, gender, and clinical problem. Orders and interprets diagnostic studies. Develops, implements, evaluates, and alters plans of care. Manages general medical and surgical conditions, including pharmacologic considerations. Counsels and educates patients and families. Performs procedural skills pertinent to practice area. Maintains accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the EMR. Patient Care Provides patient and family‑centered care, promoting health, preventing illness, and treating disease. Facilitates coordinated care and clear communication among team members. Incorporates patients and families into care planning and treatment across settings. Advocates for patients and families in navigating the health‑care system. Practice‑Based Learning & Clinical Improvement Self‑evaluates strengths, limitations, and knowledge deficits. Assesses and meets learning needs using multiple resources. Participates in quality improvement initiatives and evidence‑based practice. Communication & Interdisciplinary Collaboration Collaborates effectively with physicians, health professionals, and agencies. Promotes mutual respect and trust within a team model. Participates in policy development, protocols, and clinical standards. Outpatient Specific Responsibilities Perform comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment. Establish diagnosis and provide medical management. Enter orders within scope of practice and practice agreement. Discuss surgical procedures and obtain informed consent. Follow up for routine post‑operative care, managing complications. Direct clinic staff on patient‑care issues. Communicate with referring providers. Inpatient Specific Responsibilities Consult and round on established patients as needed. Assist in the operating room. Perform bedside procedures such as cystoscopy and catheter placement. Participate in limited overnight and weekend call shifts. Procedures Video urodynamic testing Catheter insertion and changes Complex bladder irrigation Bedside incision and drainage suturing Other procedures as per collaborative practice agreement. Qualifications & Requirements Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with acute care certification. Credentialed and privileged by Atrium Health and Clinics Medical Staff. Active hospital privileges required for employment. Will be credentialed, licensed, and maintain privileges per state law and institutional policies. Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate: $47.50–$71.25 (based on qualifications and experience). Annual CME allowance of $2,500 and 5 CME days.
