divh2Sterile Processing Technologist/h2pOur client, a Healthcare company, is looking for a Sterile Processing Technologist for their Machias, ME location./ph3Responsibilities:/h3ulliThe Central Service Technician is responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by Central Service./liliThe employee must be conscientious with regard to procedures and capable of accepting pressure assignments, clerical assignments and other duties related to the department./liliThey must maintain a high degree of confidentiality and support the mission, vision, and values of the organization./liliSterile processing experience using gas and steam, cleaning, tray assembly, wrapping and processing, specialties including OB-GYN, general surgery, ENT, Orthopedics, podiatry, pain management, and urology./liliEndoscopy scope cleaning and sterilization./liliEnsures proper operating of autoclave units prior to use on a daily basis/liliResponsible for ensuring biological and chemical tests at beginning of everyday shift if assigned and record results in appropriate log/liliInspects gas and steam autoclaves for visible signs of malfunction/liliProcesses contaminated instruments and supplies returned to Central Service/liliUses knowledge of sterilization principles to correctly wrap or package items for sterilization/liliProcesses all items appropriately following manufacturers instructions/liliAssists with training and in-services for new and long-term employees/liliApplies aseptic technique in daily work assignments./liliStores supplies and equipment in appropriate location/liliCares for instruments, syringes, needles and special procedure items and is knowledgeable in their usage/liliAssures tray assemblage, proper packaging and preparation of all applicable supplies for sterilization./liliProperly loads, operates and cleans all sterilizers, gas and steam and all general equipment./liliReceives and delivers surgical supplies and fills requisition requests/liliCapable of ordering weekly department supplies from Materials Management and outside vendors when needed/liliMaintains all necessary records and documentation/liliSeeking out needed information by staying informed and involved by attending meetings, reading memos, policies, meeting minutes, newsletters, email and other appropriate information in a timely manner./liliReliable attendance and punctuality, including observing appropriate break times and extending a scheduled shift when necessary to meet patient demands/liliPerform duties in a safe manner, in compliance with all safety policies and procedures/liliComply with the Code of Conduct and all appropriate policies and procedures/liliOther duties, as assigned, are relevant to the position and department/li/ulpExposure risk/pulliExposure Category I: Employee at risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens./li/ulpQuality improvement:/pulliMaintains current knowledge of the hospital-wide Quality Improvement Program./liliCollaborates with management to improve the effectiveness of the department through the Quality Improvement plans and processes./liliParticipates in the departmental and hospital-wide Quality Improvement activities as directed by the manager./li/ulpCompliance:/pulliAdheres to the federal, state, and local statutes and regulations./liliAdheres to the Compliance Program policies and procedures of client./liliAdheres to all Privacy and Security policies and procedures of client./liliCommunicate any concern related to compliance issues to manager of department or Compliance Officer./liliCommunicates any concern related to confidentiality issues to the Privacy Officer./li/ulh3Requirements:/h3ulliCertified CRCST and CER/liliBasic Computer Skills/liliAbility to communicate effectively with department personnel, hospital personnel, medical staff, and sales and repair representatives/liliMinimum Years of Experience: Less than 1 year/li/ulh3Why Should You Apply?/h3ulliHealth Benefits/liliReferral Program/liliExcellent growth and advancement opportunities/li/ulpICONMA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
