MOTION GRAPHICS DESIGNER

Motion Graphics Designer

TBN is seeking a talented Motion Graphics Designer to create compelling visual content across our broadcast programming and platforms. This role goes beyond technical After Effects skills—we're looking for a strong designer and visual storyteller who can develop an idea from initial concept through final animation.

You'll design complete show packages, opens, title sequences, lower thirds, transitions, promotional graphics, LED wall content, and other branded assets. You should be comfortable developing mood boards, storyboards, style frames, and motion tests while working within established brand guidelines.

The ideal candidate has excellent design instincts, sophisticated typography and composition skills, and a strong understanding of animation, lighting, pacing, and visual storytelling. You must be collaborative, deadline-driven, highly organized, receptive to feedback, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced broadcast environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Four to six years of professional motion design or broadcast graphics experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Strong portfolio or reel demonstrating design, animation, typography, composition, and visual storytelling.
• Experience creating broadcast graphics packages, including opens, lower thirds, transitions, bumpers, and title cards.
• Experience developing mood boards, storyboards, style frames, and presentation-ready concepts.
• Ability to create original visual directions while also working within established brand guidelines.
• Strong understanding of animation principles, timing, pacing, color, layout, and visual hierarchy.
• Ability to receive direction, respond professionally to feedback, and clearly communicate creative decisions.
• Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
• Ability to maintain strong creative and technical standards in a fast-paced television environment.
• Meticulous attention to detail, quality control, file organization, and project structure.
• Working knowledge of broadcast formats, resolutions, aspect ratios, frame rates, codecs, alpha channels, and delivery specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience creating content for LED walls, virtual environments, or other large-format displays.
• 3D design and animation skills using Cinema 4D, Blender, Houdini, or comparable software.
• Experience with Redshift, Octane, or other professional rendering workflows.
• Experience building MOGRTs, Essential Graphics controls, or flexible After Effects templates.
• Experience with compositing, tracking, rotoscoping, and integrating live-action footage with designed elements.
• Working knowledge of Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
• A collaborative mindset and a desire to continue growing within broadcast design and animation.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in motion design, graphic design, animation, film, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.

Please submit a resume and current portfolio or demo reel showcasing your strongest motion design work. Relevant samples should demonstrate broadcast graphics, typography, animation, concept development, and 2D or 3D design. LED wall or environmental design work may also be included.
