Junior Data Engineer (5566)

We are seeking a Data Science Consultant to support our Army Client. This is a hybrid position and the candidate will be required to work from the client location in Crystal City, Arlington VA at least 2 days a week.Design new solutions using Databricks (SQL, Python, Pyspark) and Palantir Foundry to deliver capabilities meeting business functional requirements.Design modifications to existing data model solutions as needed.Define test cases and verify test results to ensure solutions are functioning as designed.Build data models and reports using datasets from ERPs and legacy systems.Coordinate with stakeholders and users to determine reporting requirements and convert business requirements into technical specifications.Required Skills & Experience 2+ years hands on development experienceProficiency in SQL, Python and Pyspark.Experience working in data engineering, data science and data analytics. Note that this is not a Cloud Full Stack developer role.Familiarity with DatabricksFamiliarity with database design and architecture; relational and non-relational databasesAbility to work cross-functionally, and participate in discussionsKnowledge of cloud architecture: commercial cloud vendors (AWS/Azure)Competence with software engineering tools and processes (estimation, issue tracking, version control, debugging, etc.)Proven ability to work independently on assigned tasks without any supervision.Proven experience in knowledge sharing (i.e., code reviews, solid documentation)Driven, self-directed personalityStrong sense of mission and commitment to making a differenceBachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or Electrical EngineeringActive Secret ClearanceDesired Skills & Experience Experience with ETL pipelines, data pipelines, and/or workflow automationExceptional communication skills and the ability to foster positive outcomes from diverse interests of people and teamsExperience working with the DoDExperience working with GFEBS or other SAP ERP systemThe SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
