Research Laboratory Technician

Junipero Therapeutics is an early, funded gene therapeutics company in Durham, North Carolina. We are building a new way to control gene expression. Our platform uses short synthetic molecules that guide the cell's own regulators to a target RNA, raising or lowering a single gene's output. No DNA cuts, no viral vectors. We start with diseases driven by one gene, and the same approach works for many more. The role We are looking for a lab technician to help keep our bench science moving. This is a hands‑on role on a small team, with a lot of room to grow as the company does. You will work across molecular and cell biology and help keep the lab running day to day. What you will do Run core lab assays like flow cytometry, qPCR, western blots, and immunoprecipitation Carry out molecular biology workflows like cloning, plasmid prep, and RNA prep Maintain cell cultures and prepare samples for analysis Keep reagents, consumables, and equipment stocked and in good shape Keep clear, careful records of what you run and what you find Work closely with the rest of the team and pitch in where needed What we are looking for A degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related field, or equal hands‑on lab experience Comfort at the bench and a careful, organized way of working Good notes and a habit of doing things the same way every time Reliability and a real willingness to learn The drive to take ownership in a small team Nice to have Comfort with flow cytometry and analyzing high-dimensional data Any work with oligonucleotides or RNA Time spent in a startup or a fast-moving lab Where you will work Full‑time and on‑site at BioLabs Durham, 701 West Main Street, Durham, NC.
