Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across Medical Surgical and Stepdown units as part of a float pool assignment
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:6 on night shift, caring for a diverse med surg and stepdown patient population
• Administer and titrate medications including nitro, heparin, and amiodarone
• Document all patient care accurately using the EPIC EMR system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes
• Fulfill holiday shift obligations as required by unit scheduling policies

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
• Minimum 36 months of progressive care, stepdown, or medical surgical nursing experience
• Demonstrated experience administering and titrating nitro, heparin, and amiodarone
• ACLS certification through AHA or ARC (required)
• BLS certification through AHA or ARC (required)
• EPIC EMR experience (required)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Stepdown or critical care nursing experience
• Neurology care experience
• Oncology care experience
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, or director within the past 24 months
