Electronics Test Technician - Defense Systems Division

Position Summary Job Title: Test Technician Job Code: 1014 Department: Manufacturing Plant – Direct Non-Exempt Electronics Test Technician The Electronics Test Technician Specialist completes work according to instructions, specifications and procedures. Conducts a variety of tests and verifications on electro- and electromechanical equipment, while providing accuracy, productivity and on-time delivery. Responsibilities Performs a range of routine mechanical and/or electromechanical testing of small parts or components in accordance with company instructions and procedures Reviews shop traveler route card or schematic drawings to confirm correct sequence of operation Performs a variety of tests to verify circuitry and to test effectiveness of components in amplifiers and electronic equipment Receives parts or units from customers and troubleshoots circuits and components using schematic drawings and prints as verifying checks Performs testing and diagnostics using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVMs, signal generators, power meters, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, frequency counters, and other related test equipment Sets up test equipment and conducts tests per specification Performs troubleshooting and failure analysis of analog and digital circuitry malfunctions to the micro‑component level Provides detailed written failure descriptions with root‑cause analysis to production and engineering Follows written and verbal instructions, adheres to all company guidelines, policies and procedures Maintains a safe and clean work environment, an acceptable safety record and follows company safety rules Other responsibilities as assigned Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required; may need to work nights and weekends, variable schedules and additional hours as necessary Qualifications Education: A secondary certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations. Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field. Years of Experience: 5 years or more of relevant experience. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN: U.S. Citizen (no dual citizenship). Skills Strong electrical background with understanding of microelectronics Strong knowledge in testing, debugging and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies Good reading and comprehension skills to understand regulations and instructions Ability to analyze and determine methods and procedures Good verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail Proficient with Microsoft Windows software applications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
