Job Overview
This faculty role is affiliated with the School of Medicine at our organization, with practice occurring in facilities associated with UT Health East Texas.
We are currently in search of a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine Nocturnist to become part of our team at a Level I facility located in East Texas. Join us in our commitment to delivering outstanding clinical care at UT Health East Texas in Tyler.
Key Responsibilities* Provide education to patients and their families regarding preventive measures and treatment options to address all patient needs.

Inpatient Care Only
7 days on, 7 days off - 7 PM to 7 AM schedule
Electronic Medical Record System: Epic
No procedures required
No on-call duties
*Candidates trained in Family Medicine will not be considered.

The UT Health East Texas system includes nine hospitals, over 90 physician clinics, more than 500 employed providers, 13 regional rehabilitation facilities, two freestanding emergency centers, six urgent care clinics, and regional home health services spanning 41 counties. Our EMS fleet consists of over 60 ambulances and four helicopters, along with a comprehensive trauma care network featuring a Level 1 trauma center. Our primary service area serves a population exceeding 600,000.
The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school established in East Texas and ranks as the seventh within The University of Texas System. Its mission focuses on training future healthcare professionals to address the unique needs of rural and underserved communities, particularly in East Texas.
We offer a comprehensive Graduate Medical Education program with 20 residency and fellowship training opportunities, allowing graduates to specialize in fields such as family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia. Additionally, our Master of Biotechnology program features an interdisciplinary curriculum that emphasizes medical research and biotechnology innovation, preparing students for careers in medical research, diagnostics, and therapeutic development.
Currently, we are constructing a five-story, 248,000-square-foot Medical Education Building (MEB) in Tyler's Midtown District. This facility, connected to UT Health Tyler via a skybridge, will enhance interdisciplinary education for medical students and resident training, supporting the expansion of our medical education programs throughout the UT Health East Texas Health System. The building is expected to be completed by fall 2025.
