Physician Assistant

California Retina Consultants is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to support our board-certified retina specialists in delivering high-quality care. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care by performing injections of therapeutics to patients’ eyes, administering Fluorescein angiography, performing patient evaluations, assisting with procedures, and managing follow-up care. Responsibilities & Duties Conduct comprehensive physical exams and obtain detailed patient histories Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), fundus photography, microperimetry, and electroretinography (ERG) Administer and perform intravitreal injections and fluorescein angiographies Perform all routine diagnostic tests Diagnose, treat and manage patient health problems Instruct and counsel patients on diagnosis, treatment plan, and follow-up instructions Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR) Provide referrals within the health care system Participate in after-hours call coverage Participate in occasional outreach or patient education events (if applicable) Maintain compliance with federal and state medical regulations and ethical standards Perform other duties as necessary About the Candidate Preferred Skills / Abilities Exceptional patient care, delivering compassionate, high-quality care focused on eye health High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of optometric practices and procedures Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals Strong ethical standards with a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Current PA-C certification and CA state license Ophthalmology and/or Retina experience preferred but not required Bilingual in Spanish a plus All applicants considered for this role must be able to travel to other nearby locations.
