Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery / Postpartum (Combined)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a combined Labor & Delivery and Postpartum unit, supporting approximately 30 deliveries per month
• Maintain a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio during active labor and up to a 3:1 ratio on postpartum
• Cross-train and function in both the OB and nursery departments during night shift coverage
• Document patient care using Paragon, OBIX, and Epic charting systems; administer medications via Pyxis dispensing system
• Collaborate closely with OB and pediatric providers in a hands-on, team-oriented environment
• Float to assist on Acute Care (non-patient assignment, call light support only) if the OB/Nursery unit is closed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Nebraska or compact state eligibility
• Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Proficiency or ability to quickly learn Paragon, OBIX, and Epic EMR systems
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Ability to cross-train and work in both Labor & Delivery and Nursery departments

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a combined L&D and Postpartum setting
• Comfort working in a smaller, community-based hospital environment with a close-knit team
• Experience collaborating directly with OB and pediatric providers
