Allergy Nurse

Position Summary The Allergy Nurse supports the ENT clinic’s allergy and immunotherapy services by providing safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. This role is responsible for administering allergy testing and injections, monitoring patient reactions, educating patients on allergy treatment plans, and assisting providers in the management of allergic conditions. Key Responsibilities Allergy Testing & Treatment Perform and assist with allergy skin testing (scratch, prick, intradermal) per protocol Administer subcutaneous immunotherapy (allergy shots) and biologic injections as ordered Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately in emergency situations Maintain accurate allergy serum schedules and dosing protocols Patient Care & Education Educate patients on allergy diagnosis, treatment plans, and immunotherapy expectations Provide instruction on avoidance strategies, medication use, and symptom management Answer patient questions regarding allergy injections, reactions, and follow-up care Clinical Support Prepare exam rooms and supplies for allergy-related procedures Assist providers during allergy consultations and follow-up visits Document all allergy testing, injections, and patient responses in the EMR Safety & Compliance Ensure adherence to clinic protocols, OSHA standards, and infection control practices Maintain readiness of emergency equipment and medications (e.g., epinephrine) Follow proper procedures for storage, labeling, and handling of allergy serums Administrative Duties Coordinate allergy shot schedules and patient appointments Track serum expiration dates and assist with ordering new allergy extracts Communicate with external laboratories or compounding pharmacies as needed Required Qualifications Active nursing license (RN or LPN) in the state of practice Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience (allergy, ENT, or outpatient preferred) CPR/BLS certification required Strong knowledge of injection administration and patient monitoring #J-18808-Ljbffr Elevate ENT Partners
