High school diploma or equivalent.**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:**1. One (1) year experience in customer service.**CORE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Operates telecommunication equipment to provide communication service to hospital departments, patient care areas, and physicians. 2. Receives incoming calls and connects them as requested. 3. Monitors alarms such as fire, emergency, security, and telecommunications equipment. 4. Announces emergency codes and activates pagers and other communication devices. 5. Relays and route written and verbal messages. 6. Identifies problems with communication devices and takes appropriate action. 7. Documents required information in appropriate logs 8.
