Cyber Security AnalystAnnual salary is $123,755 to $180,966 and $134,007 to $195,917. Candidates from the eligible list are normally appointed to vacancies in the lower pay grade positions. Please confirm the starting salary with the hiring department before accepting a job offer.A Cyber Security Analyst plans, coordinates, and guides cybersecurity activities in prevention, governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) as well as audit, monitor, privacy and business continuity activities in the context of cybersecurity; identifies risks for business and technology projects related to Information Technology (IT) and Operations Technology (OT) hardware or software implementations and upgrades; may act as a head worker. An employee in this class will be required to follow all safety policies, standards, guidelines, procedures and processes.Requirement(s)/Minimum Qualification(s)Graduation from a recognized four-year college or university with a major in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence or a related degree; andTwo years of full-time paid experience as a Systems Programmer or in a class at that level performing systems or network administration, technical examination, assessment, design and recommendation of enterprise system and application security; orFour years of full-time paid experience in a class at the level of a Systems Analyst performing cost benefit and feasibility studies related to the modification of existing computer-based information systems, the maintenance and support of information systems, or the implementation of new computer-based systems.Applicants who lack six months or less of the required experience at the time of filing may file for this examination. However, they cannot be appointed until the full experience requirement is met. Qualifying work experience gained outside the City of Los Angeles must be gained in positions requiring a four-year degree as referenced in Requirement #1. The position of Cyber Security Analyst within the Information Technology Agency (ITA) and Harbor Department, requires, as a condition of employment, a valid Class C driver's license issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) at the time of appointment. Applicants will be disqualified or deemed ineligible for hire if their DMV record reflects three or more moving violations and/or at-fault accidents, or a conviction of a major moving violation within the last 36 months in any state or jurisdiction.
