Clinical Pharmacist Opportunity

A Clinical Pharmacist opportunity is available at a 200+ bed community hospital in Alexandria, LA. This contract role offers a chance to contribute your pharmacy expertise in a dynamic healthcare setting, supporting patient care through a variety of clinical and operational duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians, ensuring smooth workflow and compliance
  • Collaborate with physicians and nurses to provide drug therapy recommendations and consult on complex cases
  • Monitor pharmacokinetics to optimize patient medication regimens
  • Utilize EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems

Schedule:

  • Four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Rotating schedule including potential shifts from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM to 11:00 PM
  • Every other weekend coverage required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Licensed Pharmacist with current, active credentials
  • Experience in clinical pharmacy within hospital or community health settings
  • Familiarity with EPIC systems and Pyxis technology preferred
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with healthcare teams
  • BLS certification via the American Heart Association
