Boutique Tax Accountant - Flexible, Remote-Partial Work

Job Description Job Description The Position We are looking for a detail-focused Tax Accountant to join our growing team. The Tax Associate will report to a Senior Tax Professional. The Tax Associate's responsibilities include interacting with clients, obtaining and reviewing tax information, preparing tax returns, and performing tax research projects. The successful candidate must be able to think critically, not just enter numbers on a form. The right person has an ownership mentality and takes responsibility for their role within the firm.We offer a laid-back work environment and can accommodate a flexible work schedule with the ability to work from home part of the time. Core Duties Prepare a variety of individual, business, trust/estate, and gift tax returns and workpapers Provide written and verbal correspondence/guidance to high net worth individuals on tax compliance and planning Research tax issues and assist with tax audits by corresponding with IRS and/or state tax authorities on behalf of clients Maintain accounting/payroll for client businesses to be used in preparing income tax returns, including preparation of financial statements and related adjusting journal entries Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Master’s in Tax and/or pursuing CPA License a plus 0-2 years public accounting tax experience Proficiency with Tax Preparation software and Microsoft Excel/Word. Experience with QuickBooks and/or CCH Axcess a plus Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently while paying attention to details Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Desire to learn and be part of a small team of tax professionals Company Description The Dowling Group is a boutique private client wealth advisory firm located in Greenwich, CT.
