CNC Machinist

MachinistThis role involves operating, setting up, inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining CNC machines to support precision drilling, boring, and milling operations. You will interpret setup documents, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and other technical specifications to ensure accurate production and high-quality finished parts.ResponsibilitiesOperate CNC machines safely and efficiently for drilling, boring, and milling operations.Set up CNC machines to perform a variety of jobs, including selecting and installing appropriate tools, fixtures, and workholding devices.Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, setup documents, and other technical specifications to determine machining requirements.Inspect, clean, and maintain CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.Monitor machining operations and adjust settings as needed to maintain accuracy and quality.Inspect finished products using appropriate measuring tools and compare results to quality requirements and specified tolerances.Document and communicate any deviations, defects, or issues identified during production or inspection.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards and procedures.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience.Proficiency in setting up CNC machines for drilling, boring, and milling operations.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and other technical documents.Ability to understand and follow setup documents and work instructions.Strong skills in inspecting finished products and verifying dimensions against specified tolerances and quality requirements.Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.Ability to perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance on CNC machines.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a precision manufacturing or machining environment.Familiarity with a variety of measuring tools and inspection equipment.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make adjustments during machining to maintain quality.Good communication skills to effectively report issues and collaborate with team members.Why Work Here?You will work in a comfortable, climate-controlled environment that supports focus, consistency, and quality. The 2nd shift runs from 4:15 p.m. to 2:45 a.m., Monday through Thursday, while the weekend shift runs from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You will work primarily with CNC equipment and related tools in a clean, orderly environment that prioritizes safety and consistent operating conditions.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maize, KS.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
