Job Summary

We are seeking a Civil Associate Engineering Technician - Solar to support engineering and design teams in developing high-quality technical deliverables for complex solar infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for preparing and modifying site plans, grading designs, and utility layouts using industry-standard design software while applying civil engineering principles to deliver accurate and efficient project solutions.

Job Description

Support engineering teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables under close supervision
Prepare and modify site plans, grading designs, and utility layouts using Autodesk Civil 3D, PVcase, and PV Farm
Apply engineering principles and established design practices to support civil engineering design activities
Utilize CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling software to create, update, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables
Perform basic engineering calculations, including material quantity estimates and dimensional checks
Coordinate project deliverables with other engineering disciplines to minimize errors and design conflicts
Apply quality standards, document control practices, and applicable engineering codes to project deliverables
Support continuous improvement initiatives by utilizing new technologies and engineering processes
Assist in meeting internal and external project requirements while maintaining accuracy and quality
Begin providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians

Skills Required

Minimum of 2 years of related civil engineering technician experience
Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
Experience with Civil 3D grading
Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D
Experience using CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling software
Knowledge of civil engineering design principles, drafting standards, and engineering documentation
Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and material quantity estimates
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Good communication and teamwork skills
Solar project experience preferred
Experience with PVcase and PV Farm software preferred

Education/Training/Certifications

Diploma or Certificate required.
Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or a related field preferred.

Additional Requirements

Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include a criminal/civil background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
