Benefits Specialist

Location: Onsite (Monday–Friday with Flexible Hours) Employment Type: Temporary (Immediate Start through November) Our client is seeking an experienced Benefits Specialist to join their Human Resources team on a temporary basis. This is a hands‑on opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex benefits issues, improving processes, and bringing organization to a busy benefits function. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and experienced in benefits administration. This role will play a key part in stabilizing day‑to‑day benefits operations by auditing records, resolving enrollment and billing discrepancies, and ensuring employees receive accurate benefits coverage. Position Overview As the Benefits Specialist, you will be responsible for managing benefits administration for an employee population of approximately 300 employees. You'll work closely with the HR team to identify and resolve benefits issues, perform audits, reconcile premium deductions, and ensure accurate enrollment and billing processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys digging into data, identifying inconsistencies, and creating efficient, compliant benefits processes. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive audits of employee benefits eligibility, enrollments, and premium deductions Identify and resolve enrollment discrepancies and coverage issues Reconcile benefit premiums and ensure employees are billed accurately Research and correct payroll deduction and benefits administration errors Collect and reconcile outstanding employee benefit premium payments Process new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, and annual benefits changes Maintain accurate employee benefits records and documentation Partner with benefits vendors to resolve eligibility, billing, and enrollment issues Ensure compliance with benefit plan policies and applicable regulations Assist with employee questions regarding benefit plans, eligibility, and coverage Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy within benefits administration Support the HR team with additional benefits‑related projects as needed Qualifications Required 3+ years of experience in benefits administration or Human Resources with a strong benefits focus Experience conducting benefits audits and reconciling employee benefit records Strong understanding of employee benefits administration, eligibility, enrollments, and premium billing Experience resolving complex benefits and payroll deduction issues Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities Proficiency with HRIS and benefits administration systems Preferred Experience working with online benefits enrollment platforms Experience supporting open enrollment and benefits implementation projects Knowledge of applicable benefits regulations and compliance requirements Why Apply?
