Location: Avera Behavioral Health Center-Sioux Falls Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends (United States of America) Pay Range: $24.50 - $48.50 (actual pay dependent on experience) Position Highlights Eligibility for a sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 Adolescent program expanding to 40 units; Child unit 14 beds; Adolescent Residential 8 beds Opportunity to meet 70+ coworkers Opportunity to change lives of adolescents and children 1 LPN for 7‑8 patient ratio Self‑scheduling program Every 3rd weekend, every other holiday for nurses with 3+ years of experience Job Summary As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Behavioral Health setting, you will deliver nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, defining interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. You will support patients with conditions such as addiction, anxiety disorders, ADHD, depression, and suicidal behavior. What you will do Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating the nursing care plan, coordinating with other providers, and providing comprehensive support. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting physical condition, psychological status, and social factors, and consulting with families. Teach healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals and instructing patients and families on condition, medications, and self‑care skills. Evaluate patient care by measuring health outcomes, reviewing records, and re‑evaluating care objectives. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection‑control policies, medication protocols, controlled substance regulations, and legal regulations. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records and maintaining competence in nursing capabilities. Manage patient care equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness and performing preventive maintenance. Essential Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) with an active state license. Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties; ability to communicate effectively and understand speech. 1–3 years experience working in a clinical environment.
