What Your Role Entails

• Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering tests, and creating tailored care plans
• Diagnosing and addressing acute, episodic, or long-term health issues in partnership with physicians or independently as your credentials allow
• Educating patients and families on preventive care, overall health, and disease management
• Prescribing medications and therapies within your scope of practice
• Engaging in patient follow-up and managing chronic care
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive and seamless patient care
• Documenting patient interactions accurately within electronic medical records (EMR)

Education Required

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Necessary Certifications

• Valid Nurse Practitioner license in California
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or comparable specialty certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to acquire within 90 days)
