Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking a experienced Registered Nurse for the Operating Room at Mission Hospital's Memorial Campus in Asheville, NC. This position involves providing specialized surgical nursing care in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and assist with a variety of surgical procedures across multiple service lines including general, GYN, robotics, neuro, orthopedics, plastic surgery, urology, burn, and trauma.
• Prepare operating rooms with appropriate equipment and sterile supplies to ensure optimal patient safety.
• Monitor patient vital signs and comfort levels before, during, and after surgery to ensure a high standard of care.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in the Cerner system and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and safety protocols to minimize risks.
• Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to deliver quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with at least 2+ years of OR experience in a hospital setting.
• Demonstrate broad surgical knowledge including familiarity with a variety of service lines.
• Possess advanced skills in surgical procedures and instrumentation.
• Ability to work variable schedules, including call hours, in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
