About the Position

Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years required License: Must have a valid nursing license Certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP Must-Have: First-timers accepted. Weekend requirement: Every other weekend. Float within scope to meet facility needs. Locals not accepted, must reside outside a 100-mile radius. Pending license accepted. RTO restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days. Description: A minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery is required. Candidates with prior charge experience will be considered. Experience with patient ratios is necessary. Charting system experience is required. The facility has 24 rooms and 24 beds available. The daily census is approximately 18 patients. The unit handles high acuity, complex patients with various diagnoses. Specialized procedures may be requested, including circulation and assistance during C-sections. The unit adheres to national guidelines for staffing. Interdisciplinary support services are available, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, and adults. The traveler may be expected to float between antepartum and postpartum units. Compliance with state requirements, including fingerprinting, is mandatory. Careful attention to documentation and patient care protocols is essential.
