Job Summary

The Warehouse Manager leads Ring-O-Matic's warehouse and inventory functions, including receiving, material storage, kitting, inventory control, material movement, and accurate ERP transactions. This position directly supervises three Inventory Coordinators and works closely with Operations, Scheduling, Accounting, Purchasing, Engineering, FAB/Weld, and Assembly to ensure materials are available, accurately located, and properly issued to production.

In addition to daily warehouse leadership, the Warehouse Manager serves as a key Epicor and material-flow resource. The role provides backup support for scheduling and material issuing when needed and participates in ERP and continuous-improvement projects focused on inventory accuracy, plant flow, space utilization, barcoding, BOM accuracy, and process standardization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the three Inventory Coordinators while establishing clear daily priorities, accountability, and safe work practices.
• Oversee receiving, inspection/verification, put-away, storage, picking, kitting, material movement, and inventory transactions.
• Ensure timely and accurate kitting of material for Assembly and FAB/Weld operations.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through disciplined receiving, issuing, transfers, scrap transactions, location control, cycle counting, and reconciliation.
• Coordinate with Operations, Scheduling, Purchasing, Accounting, Engineering, FAB/Weld, and Assembly to resolve material shortages and inventory discrepancies.
• Support efficient material flow throughout the facility and maintain organized, clearly identified inventory locations.
• Monitor warehouse and inventory performance and lead corrective actions when accuracy, availability, or process issues are identified.
• Support safety, housekeeping, forklift/material-handling practices, and continuous-improvement activities within warehouse and storage areas.

Epicor, Scheduling & Inventory Systems

• Develop strong working knowledge of Epicor inventory, receiving, MRP, job material issuing, inventory transfers, inventory scrap, location management, and related transaction processes.
• Serve as a backup resource to the Scheduler & ERP Specialist for scheduling and material-issuing responsibilities during vacations, absences, and periods of additional workload.
• Participate as a standing member of the Epicor team meeting and support larger ERP improvement initiatives.
• Work with the Scheduler & ERP Specialist and Accounting Manager to maintain and improve the cycle-counting process and investigate inventory variances.
• Use Epicor reports and data analysis to identify inventory discrepancies, material shortages, transaction errors, inaccurate locations, and process-improvement opportunities.
• Support BOM accuracy and data-analysis projects by working with the warehouse, Engineering, Scheduling, and other departments to identify and correct material-data issues.
• Support the transition from manual material transactions to a barcode and scanner-based process, including process development, testing, implementation, and employee adoption.
• Learn, maintain, and improve the Blue Sheet inventory substitution process and VIN tag creation process.

Continuous Improvement & Project Leadership

• Courtyard Improvement Project - improve organization, identification, utilization, and control of outdoor material storage.
• Low and Slow-Moving Inventory - identify excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory and coordinate disposition or relocation to create space for future growth.
• Location Accuracy Project - verify that physical inventory is stored in the correct Epicor locations and establish processes that maintain location accuracy.
• Flow and Space Improvement - evaluate warehouse and plant material flow and develop layout improvements that reduce unnecessary handling and improve space utilization.
• Barcoding and Scanner Implementation - help lead the transition to barcode-enabled receiving, movement, issuing, and inventory-control processes.
• BOM Accuracy/Data Improvement - identify recurring BOM and material-data issues and support cross-functional corrective actions.
• Blue Sheet Process Improvement - evaluate and streamline the inventory substitution process while maintaining appropriate controls.

Qualifications

Required

• 3-5+ years of warehouse, inventory, materials, or manufacturing operations experience, including supervisory or leadership responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, cycle counting, receiving, material handling, and warehouse best practices.
• Proven ability to lead and develop employees and drive accountability within a team.
• Experience with ERP systems and inventory transactions; Epicor experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and identify root causes.
• Working proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Production, Accounting, Purchasing, Engineering, and Scheduling.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred

• Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, operations, or a related field.
• Experience in heavy equipment, industrial, or discrete manufacturing.
• Epicor ERP experience, including inventory, job material, MRP, or scheduling functions.
• Experience implementing barcode/scanner systems, warehouse layout changes, or inventory-accuracy initiatives.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, material flow, and continuous-improvement principles.

Measures of Success

• Accurate inventory quantities and locations within Epicor.
• Reliable and timely kitting/material availability for Assembly and FAB/Weld.
• Consistent execution of receiving, issuing, transfer, scrap, and cycle-counting processes.
• Effective leadership and development of the Inventory Coordinator team.
• Demonstrated ability to provide basic scheduling and material-issuing backup coverage.
• Measurable progress on warehouse space, material flow, barcode, BOM/data, and inventory-improvement projects.
