NorthBound Bar & Grill is currently hiring for two types of kitchen positions: Cooks and an experienced Kitchen Lead. Day and night shifts are available.

For our Cook positions, kitchen experience is a plus but not required. We’re happy to train the right person who shows up ready to work, learns quickly, and takes pride in what they do.

Our Kitchen Lead opening is a separate, experienced leadership position. Candidates must have substantial hands-on restaurant kitchen experience, previous experience as a Kitchen Lead or in a comparable kitchen leadership role, and strong professional references.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and cook menu items consistently according to NorthBound recipes and standards
• Complete necessary prep work and kitchen setup during day shifts
• Manage multiple tickets while maintaining proper timing, portions, and presentation
• Keep your station and kitchen areas clean, stocked, and organized
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures
• Work independently when needed while still being a reliable part of the team
• Help wherever needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly
• Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members

• Ability to stay organized and work efficiently during busy periods
• Comfortable working independently and managing your station
• Willingness to learn and follow recipes and kitchen procedures
• Clear communication and a team-first attitude
• Flexibility to help with additional shifts or coverage when available is always appreciated
• Current Washington Food Worker Card, or ability to obtain one

Kitchen Lead Requirements

Our Kitchen Lead plays an important role in keeping the kitchen organized, consistent, and running smoothly. This is an experienced leadership position and is not an entry-level role.

Kitchen Lead candidates must have:

• Substantial hands-on experience working in a restaurant kitchen
• Previous Kitchen Lead or comparable kitchen leadership experience
• A strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, prep, cooking, ticket timing, portioning, and quality control
• The ability to lead by example and help keep the kitchen organized and productive during service
• The ability to communicate effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house staff
• Strong reliability, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Professional references who can speak to previous kitchen experience, reliability, and leadership

Schedule & Hours

• Approximately 20–40 hours per week
• Day and night shifts available
• Hours will vary based on position, experience, availability, performance, and the needs of the restaurant
• Full-time hours may be available for the right experienced candidate
• Flexibility to help with additional shifts or coverage when needed is always appreciated

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting at Washington minimum wage, with higher starting pay based on position and experience
• Tips in addition to hourly pay
