The Clinical Nurse coordinates and delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting and is accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director.Essential Duties\n \n Education:\n \n Engages in identifying and addressing personal learning needs.\n Attends educational programs tailored to identified learning needs.\n Utilizes patient education materials relevant to the patient population.\n Assesses the readiness of patients, families, and caregivers to learn.\n Evaluates patients' developmental levels and factors affecting their ability to learn.\n \n Evaluation of Care:\n \n Identifies expected patient outcomes and revises care plans as needed with guidance.\n Participates in interdisciplinary team discussions to evaluate patient care.\n Communicates essential information to ensure continuity of care.\n \n Implementation:\n \n Demonstrates competence in caring for patients with complex needs across physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects.\n Performs bedside point of care testing as required by the patient care plan.\n Utilizes organizational and nursing standards, policies, and procedures in care delivery.\n Organizes and prioritizes care based on patient and family needs.\n Consults appropriate resources timely regarding complex care issues and discharge planning.\n \n Leadership:\n \n Works towards professional growth by developing goals, adjusting as necessary.\n Collaborates effectively within and across departments.\n Contributes to unit goals and performance improvement initiatives.\n Utilizes communication systems effectively.\n Participates in cost-effective care initiatives and provides feedback to colleagues.\n Stays informed about public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting healthcare.\n Promotes a safe, clean, and secure environment.\n \n Patient Assessment:\n \n Recognizes data from complex situations to prioritize patient care.\n Considers physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs in assessments.\n Synthesizes assessment data into clear communications for others.\n Anticipates discharge needs for patients and their families.\n Builds relationships with families to empower patient advocacy.\n \n Planning:\n \n Collaborates with patients and families to create or update care plans.\n Utilizes multidisciplinary resources in care planning.\n Employs full communication methods in conveying care planning.\n Addresses cultural and ethnic issues in patient care planning.\n Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks for patients with complex conditions.\n \n Research:\n \n Engages with relevant journals and literature to enhance practice.\n Shares insights and inquiries with staff for group assessment.\n \n Skills and Experience\n \n Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience required.\n Education:\n \n Nursing Diploma or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited nursing school required.\n Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.\n \n Certifications and Licensure:\n \n Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina required.\n Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification required.\n \n Schedule Details\n 1-year minimum recent Critical Care (CSICU) experience required\n \n Wellspring Nurse Source Job ID #37829933.
