Blackstone Valley Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Director to lead and oversee our resident activities program. This role is responsible for creating engaging, meaningful experiences that enhance the quality of life for our residents while ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement a comprehensive monthly activities calendar
• Lead group and one-on-one activities tailored to resident interests and abilities
• Complete resident activity assessments and contribute to care plans
• Supervise and support activities staff and volunteers
• Coordinate special events, holiday programs, and community involvement
• Maintain accurate documentation and participation records
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and survey readiness
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and QAPI initiatives
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous experience in activities programming, preferably in a long-term care setting
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work with residents with varying cognitive and physical needs
• Knowledge of dementia programming preferred

Education & Certification

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field preferred
• CTRS or Activities Director certification (or eligibility) preferred
