Job Description Job Description Sr. Systems Admin - PT - Mesquite, TX PT-Hybrid and remote 20-40 hours per week-Onsite 2 days per week 8 hours per 4 month project with potential to extend - June 2026-Sept 2026 5+ years experience PRIMARY PURPOSE: To manage a team of System Administrators, integrate and manage server enterprise applications into the district's network environment. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Managing a team of System Administrators QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED Valid Texas driver's license Preference for applicants with Microsoft Endpoint Administrator Certification Preference for applicants with Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate Preference for applicants with Microsoft Azure Certification Preference for applicants with Microsoft Certified: Windows Servers Preference for applicants with CompTIA Server+ Preference for applicants with VMware Certified Professional (VCP) Preference for applicants with Jamf Pro Certifications Preference for applicants with Apple IT Certifications Preference for applicants with Google Workspace Certifications Preference for applicants with Linux/Unix/Ubuntu Certifications Preference for applicants with Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Preference for applicants with ITIL Foundation Special Knowledge/Skills: Proficiency in administering and managing server operating systems, such as Windows Server and Linux distributions Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) for creating and managing virtual machines Understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, routing, and firewall configuration Strong scripting skills, especially in PowerShell or other scripting languages, to automate routine tasks and streamline administrative processes Knowledge of server hardware components and the ability to troubleshoot hardware-related issues Familiarity with monitoring tools like SolarWinds for real-time performance monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning Experience with MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) for configuration management, software deployment, and updates Proficient in managing and maintaining Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and domain services Skill in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for security and configuration management Knowledge of on-premise email systems (e.g., Microsoft Exchange) and cloud-based email solutions (e.g., Office 365) Administration and optimization of Office 365 services, including SharePoint, Exchange Online, and Teams Understanding of security best practices, including the implementation of Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity and availability Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve server-related issues efficiently Administration of Jamf Pro MDM automation and engineering Administration of Google Workspace MDM endpoint management and security SQL/MySQL database administration Manages contractors and consultants on a per-project basis Experience: In-depth knowledge of Apple and Google device hardware, as well as Server hardware including RAID configurations Linux integrations with Jamf Pro Server High-level troubleshooting skills related to iOS, macOS, Linux, Unix, Windows, Windows Server, and Chrome OS Working knowledge of enterprise SAN integrations in an Active Directory environment Active Directory integrations with Apple devices In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Directory Sync services High level understanding of application management and policy-based inheritance WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands: Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining a high degree of professionalism Strong ability to multitask Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including occasional prolonged and irregular hours Able to solve complex problems with tight deadlines Communicating well in both oral and written form, complying with timelines Physical demands/environmental factors: Reaching with hands and arms and frequently repeating the same hand, arm, or finger motion Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time Ability to lift 60 pounds Seeing close work such as typed or handwritten material Additional Information All candidates are encouraged to apply, but many positions require a strict drug and background check by our customers.
