Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Critical Care Float Pool experience.

• Travel experience is required within the last 12 months.

• 3 months of Epic experience is preferred.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• BSN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a California license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <75 miles from facility will be processed as local.

Required Skills/Experience:
Minimum 2.5 years of recent adult medical/surgical critical care RN experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Teaching hospital experience is preferred.
Variety in critical care experience preferred: med/surg, cardiac, neuro.
Recent Float Pool, PACU, or Emergency Room experience preferred.

Required Credentials:
RNs only: If CA state licensure is 3 months or less from expiration, proof that the renewal process has been initiated is required to apply.

Special Requests:

RTO sent after the contract is signed will not be considered.
Please add RTO time back to the end of the contract.

Unit Details:
Adult and geriatric patient population.

Shift & Scheduling:
Day/night rotating shifts.
Day shift: 07:00 - 19:30. Night shift: 19:00 - 07:30.
One schedule cycle (4 weeks) will be either shift, but may switch to the opposite shift in another schedule cycle depending on need.
Schedule based on operational need.

Floating Requirements:
This is a float pool position, not unit based.
Must have the ability to float to other UCSF facilities and other UCSF departments.
Ability to float to any UCSF campus, including Parnassus, Mission Bay, or Mount Zion.
ICU RNs float to all TCUs and ICUs, ED, and PACU.
RNs may float to Acute Care/Tele/TCU units with up to 3:1 assignment.
RNs may be assigned to ED for boarded patients or assist with tasks/PACU for boarded patients.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW : This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.

7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1
