Our organization is in search of a distinguished academic dermatologist to take on the role of vice chair of education within the Department of Dermatology.

The vice chair will collaborate closely with the department chair, the Office of Undergraduate Medical Education, and the Office of Graduate Medical Education to enhance the educational objectives of the department. Primary duties will encompass:

  • Leading the formulation and implementation of the department's educational strategic plan.
  • Establishing and overseeing a new dermatology residency program.
  • Providing mentorship to faculty and trainees.
  • Fostering robust partnerships with college, clinical, and community stakeholders.

Clinical responsibilities will be conducted at a prominent cancer center, which features a well-established dermatology program focused on cutaneous oncology and oncodermatology, as part of a multidisciplinary care team. For candidates who maintain an active research agenda, the role will also offer dedicated time for research activities and funding for research initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in developing, initiating, or managing residency and/or fellowship training programs.

  • Clinical proficiency in cutaneous oncology and/or oncodermatology.

Qualifications:

  • MD or MD/PhD degree from an accredited institution.

  • Board certification in Dermatology.

  • Eligibility for an unrestricted medical license in Arizona.

  • Eligibility for medical staff membership at the affiliated medical centers.

  • Eligibility for an academic appointment at the associate professor level or higher at our institution.

  • A minimum of three years of educational and/or administrative experience.

  • A proven record of clinical excellence and scholarly contributions.

  • A demonstrated history of research activity.
