Senior Software Engineer for AI Training

Role Overview

Help train next-generation AI systems by building reinforcement learning environments that evaluate an AI model''s ability to solve complex software engineering problems. You will create reproducible environments and golden-reference solutions covering bug fixes, feature development, codebase refactoring, and performance optimization. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute expert code samples, debugging strategies, and development insight in Python 3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex defects and performance bottlenecks across diverse codebases.
• Implement scalable, maintainable features that follow software engineering best practices.
• Refactor and optimize legacy code to improve clarity, efficiency, and long-term reliability.
• Document technical reasoning, solution approaches, and code decisions to support high-quality AI training data.
• Review and validate peer-submitted code and technical work for accuracy and clarity.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on expertise in at least one of Python 3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Demonstrated ability to debug complex systems, fix defects, and deliver effective performance improvements.
• Experience refactoring large codebases and modernizing legacy systems.
• A record of delivering high-impact features from concept through delivery in cross-functional projects.
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
• Clear open-source contributions and a public GitHub or GitLab profile, preferably demonstrating work in C++, Python, Java, Go, TypeScript, or Rust.
• Interest in AI and its technical challenges is welcome, but AI experience is not required.

Work Terms

• Remote contract engagement.
• Approximately 15 hours per week.
• Selected candidates should be ready to begin their first tasks within 24 to 48 hours after completing the required setup steps.
• The application process includes screening questions, an approximately 30-minute AI interview, a tentative technical assessment, and hiring-manager review.

Compensation

• Advertised pay range: $50 to $150 per hour.
• Compensation is task-output based and paid for work that meets project specifications. Completion time may vary by experience and workflow.
• Minimum submission requirements apply, including a required minimum number of tasks each week.
