Full-Time | Long-Term Care Facility

We are looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a long-term care (LTC) nursing home provides essential direct care to residents. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), the CNA assists residents with daily living, monitors health status, and serves as a vital bridge between residents and the healthcare team.

Core Responsibilities:

• Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, and incontinence care while preserving their dignity and independence.
• Nutrition & Hydration: Serve meal trays, assist residents with feeding, and record daily intake and output (I&O).
• Mobility & Transfers: Safely transfer residents between beds, wheelchairs, and recliners using mechanical lifts or proper body mechanics; turn and reposition bedridden residents to prevent pressure ulcers.
• Vital Signs & Observation: Measure and record blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, weight, and pain levels. Report any sudden changes in physical condition or behavior immediately to the charge nurse.
• Infection Control & Environment: Maintain clean, safe living areas by changing linens, sanitizing surfaces, and adhering to standard safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Documentation: Accurate and timely entry of care activities, vital signs, and resident behaviors into electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Emotional Support & Advocacy: Build therapeutic, respectful relationships with long-term residents and their families, offering companionship and observing subtle shifts in physical or emotional well-being.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Certification: Active state Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) registry listing in good standing.
• Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (often preferred or required upon hire).
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, stoop, walk for extended periods, and lift or move up to 50 lbs safely.
• Key Skills: High empathy, patient-first mindset, clear communication, strong crisis calm, and strict adherence to resident privacy (HIPAA).

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CNA certification required
• Current CPR certification required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a long-term care or nursing home setting.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and holidays if needed.
