A client of ours is seeking a Project Engineer - Transportation for a full-time opportunity in McAllen, Texas. This position is ideal for a licensed Texas Professional Engineer with at least five years of roadway and transportation design experience who is prepared to take ownership of complex highway projects from initial concept through final design. The selected candidate will support project managers, lead coordination among clients and technical teams, and produce high-quality plans, specifications, cost estimates, and final bid packages.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $120K - $140K Depending on Experience

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with design, analysis, and production of complex interstate highway and roadway design projects
• Perform roadway and civil engineering design calculations
• Develop reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and final bid packages
• Take projects from initial concept through final design
• Lead and coordinate with staff, subcontractors, and clients to deliver roadway and highway design activities
• Work closely with project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to complete a variety of transportation projects
• Attend design review meetings with staff and clients
• Take ownership of assigned projects from start to finish

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required
• Professional Engineer license in Texas required
• 5+ years of experience on transportation and roadway projects
• Proficiency with MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenRoads
• Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Flexible and able to adjust to changing project needs
• Strong communication skills with clients and internal teams
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple disciplines
