Operating Room Registered Nurse

The Operating Room Registered Nurse initiates a plan of care based on identified medical, surgical, and nursing diagnoses. This plan is consistent with the knowledge of illnesses, injuries, diseases, human behavior, and outlined standards of care in the Operating Room. You will direct and coordinate with other departments and personnel to provide a safe environment and a high standard of quality care. You will provide nursing care to surgery patients and supervise personnel in related activities. This role includes supervising the care given to assigned patients in a single Operating Room unit. You will be in charge of patient safety, provision of supplies and equipment, and maintaining asepsis.

Key responsibilities include: Carefully assessing and monitoring the physical status of the patient. Collecting and recording necessary data through patient interviews, observation, and review of records. Utilizing this information appropriately in planning and delivering patient care. Actively listening to patients and providing appropriate responses. Identifying necessary interventions based on specific surgeries, illnesses, injuries, or diseases. Anticipating potential problems and adapting to surgical procedures. Demonstrating competency in maintaining a sterile field. Anticipating the need for equipment and supplies before procedures begin. Evaluating nursing interventions in relation to established expected outcomes. Reassessing patient status and communicating any unresolved problems.

Housing may be available depending on availability in self-sufficient apartments within walking distance. Each apartment includes private kitchens and bathrooms.
