Mental Health Therapist

Join our growing dynamic mental health team as an Outpatient TherapistLicensed or Licensed Eligible in Virginia! In this vital role, we are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and trauma-informed Outpatient Therapist to provide mental health services to individuals, couples, and families, with a specialized focus on the perinatal population. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting clients through pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, infertility, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, parenting challenges, relationship concerns, and family transitions. The therapist will provide evidence-based counseling services in an outpatient setting, collaborate with community providers, and promote emotional wellness throughout the reproductive and parenting journey. This position offers the opportunity to work within a supportive, client-centered practice dedicated to improving outcomes for parents, infants, and families. Duties:Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding standards to inform treatment planning. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions using a variety of therapeutic modalities including psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis. Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clients needs and goals while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Provide individual, couples, and family therapy services. Conduct comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical documentation. Support clients experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), birth trauma, infertility, pregnancy loss, parenting stress, and relationship concerns. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to client needs. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with ethical, legal, and organizational standards. Collaborate with healthcare providers, doulas, lactation consultants, pediatric providers, and community resources when appropriate. Participate in case consultations, supervision, and continuing education opportunities. Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and applicable state regulations. Utilize telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions, ensuring seamless patient care across different settings.Requirements:Valid licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or eligible for licensure in Virginia.Demonstrated experience in outpatient clinical settings with children and families preferred; clinic experience is highly valued.Proficiency in evidence-based therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and trauma-informed care.Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related mental health field.Active Virginia licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Resident working toward licensure under supervision).Experience working with perinatal mental health concerns preferred.Training in trauma-informed care and family systems approaches preferred.Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills.Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient care; commitment to confidentiality under HIPAA standards.Ability to pass all required criminal history checks.Our mission is to provide compassionate, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed mental health care that empowers parents and families to thrive throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.
