Medical Assistant Primary Care

Medical Assistant – Primary Care Clinic, Haywood Job Summary Work as a member of a strong team to provide care for the comfort and well‑being of patients. Administer medications, change dressings, provide wound care, and serve as liaison between providers and patients. Document care delivery, patient condition, reaction, and progress, and provide patient education regarding pharmaceuticals to support the business goals of the practice. Qualifications Required Education: Graduate/Certification from one of the following credentialed programs: AAMA (Certified Medical Assistant, CMA); AMT (Registered Medical Assistant, RMA); ARMA (American Registry of Medical Assistants, ARMA); NCCT (National Certified Medical Assistant, NCMA); AMCA (Clinical Medical Assistant Certification, CMAC); NHA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, CCMA). Preferred Education: None required. License/Certification: Must have and maintain a current medical assistant certification. Mandatory BLS certification within 90 days of employment. Preferred Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience in an ambulatory clinic. Ability to function in a high‑stress, physically demanding setting. Working Conditions: Contact with patients and families during working hours; use of electrical biomedical machines and equipment; minimal exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents; moderate exposure to biological hazards and patients with infectious diseases; OSHA category: potential for exposure to blood or body fluids.
