Computer Numerical Control Machinist

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for a precision manufacturing environment focused on quality, consistency, and tight-tolerance work. This is a hands-on role for a machinist who can set up machines, make simple edits at the machine, and maintain quality while working in a fast-paced production setting. The strongest current need is for someone with a lathe background . This position will primarily work on Mori Seiki and Puma machines with Fanuc controls , running work on 10" to 22" chucks . This is a strong fit for someone who understands setup, can read prints confidently, and takes ownership of both quality and productivity throughout the shift. This is not a passive operator role. The person in this position will be expected to understand the work, monitor quality closely, make adjustments when needed, and contribute to a productive, team-oriented shop environment. What You Will Be Doing: Set up and operate CNC machines in a production environment Work primarily on Mori Seiki and Puma equipment with Fanuc controls Perform simple machine-side edits and adjustments as needed Run multiple machines when required while maintaining part quality and throughput Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job instructions Perform in-process and final inspections on machined parts Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and other precision inspection tools Hold tight tolerances consistently, including ±.003" regularly and tighter tolerances when required Record jobs, inspections, and nonconformances accurately in ERP Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Work closely with production and quality teams to meet deadlines and maintain standards What It Takes to Excel in This Role: The right candidate will bring more than basic machine operation. To succeed in this role, you should have: Solid CNC setup experience A strong background in lathe work Confidence working on Fanuc-controlled machines Strong blueprint reading ability A consistent, disciplined approach to precision measurement and quality control The ability to stay productive and accurate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven shop A dependable, accountable work style with minimal need for supervision A team-first attitude and willingness to support production goals Strong performers in this role are people who catch issues early, stay engaged throughout the shift, and can be trusted to keep work moving without sacrificing quality. Preferred Background: CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment Setup experience required Lathe experience strongly preferred Experience working with Mori Seiki, Puma, and/or Fanuc controls strongly preferred Ability to make simple edits at the machine Experience running multiple machines is a plus Proficiency with precision measuring toolsAbility to hold tight tolerances in a production setting Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality This is a fast-paced production environment where quality and efficiency both matter.
