Full‑Time Driver / Laborer – Department of Public Works Englewood Cliffs is seeking a motivated and dependable individual to serve the community through the maintenance and improvement of municipal infrastructure, public facilities, parks, and roadways. The starting salary is $43,000 per year. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform manual labor related to the maintenance of municipal streets, parks, public buildings, grounds, and other public properties. Operate light and heavy equipment, including trucks, loaders, snowplows, and other public works machinery. Assist with recycling, yard waste, and other sanitation‑related collection programs. Participate in roadway maintenance activities, including asphalt patching, pothole repairs, and street maintenance. Perform seasonal duties such as snow and ice removal, leaf collection, storm drain cleaning, and emergency response operations. Assist in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of municipal vehicles, equipment, and facilities. Work collaboratively with supervisors and fellow employees to complete assigned projects and daily operations. Respond to emergencies and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Valid New Jersey driver’s license. Ability to obtain a New Jersey Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within six (6) months of employment. Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions. Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Availability to work overtime, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call‑outs, including snowstorms and severe weather events.
