Registered Nurse

This role involves providing high-quality nursing care in a surgical intensive care setting. You will be responsible for caring for postoperative patients and transplant recovery patients. The unit is composed of cardiac surgery patients, transplant patients, general surgery, medicine overflow, and cardiac overflow cases. Daily patient ratios are set at 1:2 in the ICU. Responsibilities will include managing ventilated patients and administering blood products. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy and respiratory services. The environment requires adherence to infection prevention protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment. You must be comfortable with potential assignments to an "emergency team" should a critical event occur. Candidates must be prepared to float to other ICUs as needed. Candidates who have worked as permanent staff or in-house contractors must have separated from their previous roles for one full year before returning as travelers.
