A local behavioral health and rehabilitation center is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Financial Services Coordinator to join their team! This is a great opportunity for someone with healthcare financial, insurance verification, medical billing, credentialing, or administrative experience who enjoys helping patients while working closely with providers, insurance companies, and internal teams.

This is a long-term temporary position with the potential to become temp-to-hire for the right fit.

A day in the life of a Patient Financial Services Coordinator:

• Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, deductibles, co-pays, coinsurance, authorizations, and out-of-pocket responsibilities.
• Communicate with patients regarding estimated costs, payment expectations, financial assistance options, and payment arrangements.
• Assist patients with financial agreements, self-pay arrangements, and required documentation.
• Accurately document insurance verification, financial counseling, and payor communications in electronic systems.
• Coordinate with admissions, clinical, authorization, billing, and administrative teams to support timely access to care.
• Assist with provider credentialing and re-credentialing with commercial, Medicaid, managed care, government, EAP, and behavioral health payors.
• Collect, verify, and maintain provider documentation, including licenses, certifications, malpractice insurance, NPI information, CAQH profiles, and board certifications.
• Prepare and submit payor enrollment applications, roster updates, demographic changes, credentialing packets, and contract requests.
• Track credentialing deadlines, provider enrollment status, license expirations, revalidation dates, and payor approvals.
• Communicate with insurance companies and internal teams to resolve credentialing, enrollment, billing, and reimbursement issues.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient and provider information in accordance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Prepare reports and provide updates on credentialing, enrollment, and outstanding items.
• Assist with other revenue cycle, patient access, compliance, and administrative duties as needed.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, patient financial services, medical billing, credentialing, payor enrollment, behavioral health administration, or a related healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance eligibility, benefits verification, patient responsibility, claims processes, and payor requirements.
• Familiarity with provider credentialing, NPI, CAQH, payor enrollment, and re-credentialing preferred.
• Experience with behavioral health payors, Medicaid, managed care, or Single Case Agreements is a plus.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and ability to learn electronic health record, billing, and credentialing systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to discuss sensitive financial information professionally and compassionately.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and follow-through.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be comfortable working 100% onsite in Philadelphia, PA 19128.
