divh2Traveling Chiller Technician Service Manager/h2pCarrier Commercial Services has an opening for an experienced Traveling Chiller Technician Service Manager. The Service Manager will work with a group of Operations Professionals and Union Field Technicians to efficiently execute planned maintenance, and installations of big commercial projects in an effort to exceed the expectations of our customers and meet revenue and margin targets. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of commercial air conditioning business including but not limited to relationship management, talent development, field operations, and safety./ppThis role will require the Service Manager to be in the field 40% of the time and 60% of the time in the office./ph3Key Responsibilities/h3ulliAct as the primary customer-facing representative, embodying and promoting the Carrier brand./liliLead the hiring process for Data Center technicians, ensuring the selection of qualified candidates./liliOversee onboarding of new technicians, including safety orientation, training procedures, and provisioning of devices and equipment./liliServe as the union liaison, facilitating communication and maintaining positive relations between Carrier and union representatives./liliConduct job site safety inspections and organize quarterly safety meetings to reinforce safety culture./liliInteract regularly with the master scheduler to ensure technician staffing needs are accurately met for each project./liliManage requests for tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), vehicles, and uniforms for field teams./liliMaintain responsibility for fleet management, ensuring vehicles are properly assigned, maintained, and available./liliApprove daily timesheets and travel requests for Data Center technicians./liliTravel to Data Center sites to oversee operations and support field teams./liliForecast, monitor, and document financial performance against plan/liliCoordinate, prioritize and resolve issues encountered by the team./liliOptimize the usage of manpower, standard time, equipment and energy to complete open work/liliEscalate critical/complex issues that will impact the business/liliManage the team according to established programs and objectives/liliImplement, monitor, manage the quality of work/liliRespond to key customer complaints, carry out customer satisfaction investigations and ensure establishment of appropriate improvement plans/li/ulh3Required Qualifications/h3ulliHigh school diploma or GED/lili5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC and/or in the service industry./lili3+ years experience managing and or training field service teams, including union technicians, with a focus on performance and efficiency./liliAbility to Travel/li/ulh3Preferred Qualifications/h3ulliBachelors degree in engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience./liliExpertise in startup and commissioning of industrial HVAC systems and understanding of data center reliability standards./liliStrong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, including diagnostics, controls, and maintenance./liliFamiliarity with safety standards, building codes, and compliance requirements./liliProven ability to build customer relationships and resolve issues effectively./liliProficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), Microsoft Office, and dispatch tools/liliSkilled in budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning/liliClear and confident communicator with all organizational levels/liliFlexible and hands-on, comfortable in both office and field environments/li/ulpCan be located in one of these areas:/pulliPittsburgh, PA/liliCincinnati/Cleveland/Columbus, OH/liliDetroit, MI/liliIndianapolis, IN/liliMilwaukee, WI/liliLouisville, KY/li/ulpPay Range/ppThe annual salary for this position is between $96,000.00 - $192,000.00 annually.
