Position Overview
The Tax Analyst I will be part of a local Sales Tax team supporting North America Sales Tax Department operations. Responsibilities encompass various aspects of the sales tax function, including tax return compliance, tax research, tax adjustments, audit support, Tax Help Desk operations, internal reporting, Vertex tax software administration, unclaimed property reporting, and special projects. This role is expected to actively support a culture of innovation by leveraging AI, automation, and emerging technologies to streamline processes, improve decision-making, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver exceptional internal and external customer support. The successful candidate will demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset, seeking opportunities to transform ideas into practical solutions that create measurable business value. The individual will also be responsible for other tasks and duties assigned by management.
What you’ll do at Insight
Be a reliable resource to support North America – Sales Tax /Indirect Tax Operations
Tax Help
Sales tax research & analysis
Manage customer files, reviews documentation and research State requirements for any applicable sales tax issues/questions
Proactively respond to and resolve internal (Sales, Collections, AP) and external customer inquiries through the high-volume Tax Help inbox.
Work within SAP, Workday, Vertex, Excel and other programs
Provide necessary support for EOM/EOQ test cycles (SAP/Vertex) - may require “after hours” work
Prepare tax forms for vendors, clients etc.
Compliance
Efficiently generates sales tax data, reconcile with general ledger and generate accurate sales tax returns
Submits tax filings and associated backup including sales tax, gross receipts tax and unclaimed property
Manages sales tax payable account and determine tax credits that need to submit to tax authorities
business and tax license maintenance including new applications and renewals
Maintain good standing status through correspondence letters and phone inquiries to tax authorities
Manage UCP mailbox and provide answers to inquiries from AR team
Compile UCP required information for accurate State reporting
Prepare and file tax registration, business renewals etc.
Audits, Refunds & Others
Assist with documentation for State/local tax audits
Consolidate and summarize data and other supporting worksheets for audits
Other duties and responsibilities assigned by immediate supervisors
What you’ll need to join Insight
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, from four-year College or University
At least 1-2 years of work experience in US Taxation and other related experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft programs; experience with SAP and Vertex a plus.

Experience supporting or working in shared service for a US company or BPO industry
