Senior System Safety Engineer

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent technical discipline Minimum 5 years of related experience Experience in conducting System Safety Programs Familiarity with MIL-STD-882E and other relevant industry safety standards Experience in system safety engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, or related field Proficient with MS Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Job Summary As a Senior System Safety Engineer, you will contribute to analysis and design support for safety programs in missile launching system projects. You will work independently and collaborate with senior safety engineers to integrate safety into hardware and software. Key Responsibilities Analysis and design support for system safety programs. Requirements analysis, interface analysis, and operations analysis. System safety test and verification. Collaboration with other senior safety engineers to embed safety into products. Guidance & Development Direct guidance from senior safety engineers familiar with the product line. Opportunity to grow skills and understanding of System Safety Engineering. Contribution to improving and evolving the system safety process and methodology. Who You Are Capable of working in a team‑oriented, fast‑paced environment supporting multiple projects and proposals. Proven communication, team building, and project management skills. Strong technical experience, planning, and organizational skills. Desired Skills M.S. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent. Experience with weapon/fire control system development, radar development, or electrical hardware design. Experience with Requirements and Model Based Engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, CAMEO). Experience in software development tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevSecOps). Experience with safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NAS-411). Experience with software safety standards (e.g., JSSEH). Remote Work Availability Part‑time remote telework: Selected employees will work part of the schedule remotely and part at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
