Compensation

General Description: This is a 9-month, non-tenure earning Instructor of English position in the Department of English and World Languages. Responsibilities include a 4/4 teaching load, or equivalent, plus service commensurate with the position.

Supervisor: This position reports to the Department Chair, Dr. Tru Leverette Hall.

Working Hours: Varies

Supervision Exercised: This is not a supervisory role.

Required Licensure: N/A

Required Qualifications: Master's degree in related field

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:

• The ideal candidate should have teaching and professional expertise in professional communication, technical writing, and writing studies.
• Significant factors for consideration will include demonstrated excellence in teaching and experience in writing across the curriculum.
• Additional factors include experience in coordinating internships and community outreach.

About the Department:
The Department of English and World Languages at the University of North Florida offers courses in Composition & Rhetoric, Creative Writing, Digital Humanities, Film, Literature, Professional Writing, Theater, Spanish, French, and Chinese. The department offers two Bachelor of Arts programs in English: the B.A. in English and the B.A. in English with a Concentration in Creative Writing. Additionally, we offer a B.A. in Spanish and a B.A. in French and Francophone Studies. The English Graduate Program offers the M.A. in English and M.A. concentrations in Creative Writing and Composition and Rhetoric. The department also offers minors in Creative Writing, Film, Literature, Professional & Public Writing, Digital Humanities, Spanish, French, and Chinese. Our courses contribute to a range of interdisciplinary programs, including Africana Studies, English Education, Digital Humanities, and Gender Studies.
