Harborview Medical Center Radiology has an outstanding opportunity for a RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST, MRI.

WORK SCHEDULE - PER DIEM

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Advanced diagnostic imaging, specialized clinical expertise. Radiology Services at Harborview Medical Center offers a full complement of radiology tests and imaging procedures, including nuclear medicine and interventional radiology (angiography).

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares patients for examinations, explains the procedure and answers patient's questions.
• Screens patients for any contraindication to MRI exam.
• Reviews patient medical history on exam request, consults physician as necessary to ensure proper exam for each patient.
• Prescribes proper scanning parameters for the most common MRI exams with the assistance of documented or computer prescribed protocols.
• Determines optimal imaging options for most common MRI exams to minimize artifacts and decrease scan time. Post process if needed. Calculate and administer appropriate contrast for exam.
• Administers contrast under supervision of Radiologist.
• Assures that patients are properly scheduled in Radiology Information System (RIS), and exams are completed with proper billing.
• Assures that exam is filmed, archived and sent to PACS properly.
• Monitors equipment to ensure a diagnostic exam.
• Troubleshoots and repairs basic system malfunctions.
• Practices equipment safety policies and procedures.
• Restocks rooms of all supplies as needed.
• Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS - Satisfactory completion of formal technology training in an AMA-approved school, AND registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR equivalent education/experience. Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist.

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum: $51.50 hourly

Pay Range Maximum: $80.56 hourly

Other Compensation: Certification Pay Premium (for ARRT-R-MRI): Additional $1.25/hr. Weekend Premium: (if applicable) Additional $2.50/hr. Night Shift Differential: (if applicable) Additional $2.75/hr.
