Registered Nurse - Transitional Care Unit/Rehab Float

This is a 12-hour night shift position, requiring 3 shifts per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care in a Transitional Care Unit and Rehab setting, floating to various units as necessary. The nurse will manage a diverse patient population including post-acute care and various surgical and non-acute patients. This role involves charge nurse responsibilities at times based on patient census.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Transitional Care Unit.
• Manage patient ratios effectively: TCU 1:8-10 and Rehab 1:3-5 based on unit census.
• Perform assessments, manage IV therapy, and oversee admissions and discharges.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate comprehensive patient care.
• Act as charge nurse, responsible for overseeing all patients on the unit during the shift.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in the applicable state.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
• Previous experience in a rehab setting or transitional care unit is advantageous.
